What is an Emotional Crisis?
An emotional crisis is an acute period of intense emotional distress. During an emotional crisis, a person’s emotions, thoughts, and feelings can feel overwhelming. An emotional crisis can be caused by unexpected events, losses, breakups, trauma, or accumulated stress. It’s important to get help early and seek out the right support to avoid things getting worse.
What Can I do Now?
- Take the first step: Feel free to contact me whenever you’re ready to talk.
- Talk to someone you trust: A family member, friend, or someone close to you can be a source of support as you deal with the situation.
- Seek immediate professional help if there is an immediate risk of harm.
